Happy Truck of the Month

Happy Truck of the Month

"Earl Grey" is the poster child for my custom auto shop, GDR CUSTOMS - where 'Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Stock'.  He is a 1978 Chevrolet K10 Cheyenne. Built for boost 3rd Gen LS swap, Holley Terminator Max EFI control, BTR stage 2 turbo cam, LS7 springs and valves, trunion upgrade, HvHp oil pump, 4L60E built trans, NP205 transfer case with twin stick independent diff control. '91 GMC tilt column, Jeep steering shaft upgrade. Fully reinforced frame. Full frame off restomod, new harness, Intellitronix digital cluster, vintage air ac/heat, etc. The list is a mile long on this truck. We traded our '66 Grand Prix for this truck when we bought our house and we needed a truck to move. This motor / trans combo is the 4th one for Earl and the best so far. Earl's our most reliable truck. We are going to tear him down one more time and do the twin turbos, full diff and axle upgrades, along with crossover steering and hydroboost upgrade this winter.

We love this fella, he's such a pleasure to drive and gets looks everywhere we go. The most common thing we get asked is "when are you going to paint it"... The answer is NEVER! He wears his scars well. Our love of this truck shows in the amount of money, time and blood we put into it - but that's our fun. Every month is Happy Truck Month when we drive Earl!
